Zoro: Stage 2

So this is the second stage of my drawing of Roronoa Zoro...
There should be at LEAST two more stages from here, but this one is always the hardest... Trying to plan the layout, the positioning... the facial expression... For now I'm sticking with a ready, but not intimidated, face. I always saw him as something like the guardian of the hopes and dreams and of the crew- as he always the first one to step up and defend- no matter the cost.

My all time favorite character, ever. I can only hope the next few stages and the final work do him justice...

Also, sidenote- the pencil on the sketchbook is my current tool of the trade for linework, a #2 0.5mm Velocity by BiC. The grip is great for control and detail <3
